Giggling Like a Tim Kurkjian

Forget the hoary expression "giggling like a schoolgirl". It has been rendered ineffective by video of ESPN baseball reporting ace Tim Kurkjian calling in to that evening's Baseball Tonight after the Rangers "instant classic" slaughter of the once-proud Orioles. In case you thought my previous blog post was exaggerating for comic effect....

John Kruk is gonna be doing impressions for the next two weeks, I promise you.

  1. The O's truly suck. We were at the game last night and watched as they bumbled away a 4-0 lead. It was really embarrassing. Every game I go to at Camden Yards, there are just as many fans of the opposing team as there are for the O's. Last night was no different.

Another thing. They need to get over their addiction to everything that is Cal Ripken Jr. Its time to move on. The guy was a good ballplayer. Most of the time. The least significant thing he ever did in his baseball career was "The Streak".

  2. Could not agree more about the Ripken sentiments. Above anything, I think his fielding--and the fact that a six-foot-plus, 200-pounder was excelling at shortstop--made him a player of note to those outside Charm City.

I still get into "Streak" debates with people. Most overrated feat in baseball history? I'm struggling to think of one to put above it.
